ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The idea of forming a Shaikh Family Tree was first initiated by Late Imtiaz s/o Mohammad Kassim. Imtiaz passed on the project to his uncle Mohammad Afzal. Afzal visited each Shaikh family and painstakingly collected information about the names and date of birth of most Shaikh family members. Afzal updated the family tree on a large chart. This is the most authentic available record of the Shaikh family.
During a visit to Afzal in UK, Mohammad Muazam, was impressed with the work done and discussed the possibility of forming a Shaikh family tree website. This would result in a permanent record of the Shaikh family for generations to come and would involve all Shaikh family members in updating and maintaining the family website and tree. The webpage would also become a uniting factor in the family. Muazam was successful in getting support from a number of family members, who made this website possible.
Mohammad Tazam agreed to take charge of the project as a Project Director. He advertised, and interviewed a number of software companies, and finally selected Xpertogo to create the Shaikh Family Website. He negotiated and signed a contract with Xpertogo in September 2011. Tazam supervised the day to day progress of the website project. Tazam was assisted by his son Shahzad. Mohammad Ajmal kindly agreed to be the treasurer, collected data for the project and provided assistance and advice.
A number of Shaikh Family members actively participated in the decision making process, provided material, photographs and funds to make this website possible. Sardar Zaheer s/o Sardar (Jani) Yakoob made a generous monetary contribution towards this project and conducted research and provided rare photographs. Anis s/o Younus, Afzal s/o Aslam and Ajmal s/o Aslam provided precious family photographs and help in construction of the website.
